February 2024

I am writing this letter to thank all the volunteers and community for your support and help throughout this time.  Your support, selflessness and good deeds certainly will not go unnoticed.

We are very lucky to have so much help and support from awesome people like yourseves who expect nothing in return,

Once again thank you so much for all the support and assistance, we really do appreciate everything that all the volunteers bring to the table every single day,

September 2023

Our client came to us from a DV situation only a few months ago and wasn’t sure how to move forward with her life, or what resources were available to her. Her employment consultant told her about Turning Point and what you do, and encouraged her to go in and have a chat.

She went in and was a bit nervous at first but after she met the team, she felt very safe and welcome. She told me you helped her with some food and helped her access group workshops to build her self-esteem after DV. Our client is now so much more confident, and currently studying for her dream job which she is determined to start next year.

She told me without the support from you and the team at Turning Point, she wouldn’t know where her and the children would be now and honestly said from the bottom of her heart that you have changed her life!!

I wanted to pass that feedback onto you to recognise how valuable you, your team, and your service are to our community, and how wonderful it is to be able to have a place to send our vulnerable clients

JANUARY 2022

I just wanted to thank you once again for the amazing generosity for the hampers donated to our young parents and their children.
The smiles on their faces when they received their items was heart warming, and they could not believe all the items were for them. One of our mums was quite teary and expressed that this had made her excited for Christmas and reduced the worry of allocating additional funds for presents and party food.

From A Community Partner

March - April 2022

We wanted to thank you for your attentive and immediate response with assisting myself and my family after the floods in Camden. Experiencing 3 floods within a matter of 35 days put us into a situation, that we didn’t think we would recover. We felt broken after the 2nd flood (03 Mar2022 / 07Mar2022*/ 07Apr2022*) *displaced. We didn’t know where to begin and felt somewhat isolated and overwhelmed. Your understanding and compassion allowed us to trust, ask and accept with dignity.
Turning Point is so appropriate, because our connecting with you was our very personal & trusted turning-point, in our family’s time of need. After attending Camden Library -Temporary Flood Resource, I left with a listing of Community organisation, I approached Turning Point due to being local and your proximity within our proud Camden Community. Davina, from the get-go, you comforted and reassured me with your openness and honest empathy, in our time of need. We can only congratulate and acknowledge your efforts. You went well above and beyond any expectations, regular contact, reassuring me and my family, that you were, but a phone call away or a few steps in our case. Your hard work was seamless, with us not to feeling that we were asking for assistance, but that help was there within our own community.
We cannot thank yourself, Turning Point and all parties involved enough, with you identifying and organising hire for the industrial sludge pump from Camden Hire, of which Camden Hire kindly donated at the end of the extended hire. The pump enabled us to get all the sludge, mud and fish out of our pool that was septic from flood waters over a 4 day period. Replacement of our washing machine and essential hamper with such speed to support and a comforting blanket. Our multi-generational household, has been afforded, a huge relief.
Your support allowed us to keep focussing on the clearing & clean up of our home and not rushing to the laundromat etc to organise clean/dry clothes and essentials. It may seem small, but to us, it was and is such a huge relief. You gave us permission and the opportunity to (take a breath), you reinstated our trust, hope and faith to keep moving ahead and that help is there, just reach-out.
Thank you for your work.

FEBRUARY 2020

Just a quick note to say a great big thank you to yourself and to all the wonderful people at Turning Point, Camden.  Words are not enough to express my appreciation for all the help and comfort you have given me during the last few months. As you know, I have been on an emotional rollercoaster as well as being unemployed over the last few months. Your support has been amazing and you have always made me feel so comfortable and welcome. Learning basic computer skills from the volunteers has given me some confidence in the workforce. They are all so helpful and giving. I really appreciate all your advice and knowledge about all the services that you provide regarding my problems, such as my depression, domestic violence and divorce as well as starting over.  Even your excitement when I finally got a job was more than my own family. You have all been a big positive in my life and have made a difficult situation easier.

JULY 2019

I'm a single mum with 3 teenage boys. Although I work, and like to think I'm on top of things, life sends you curve balls every now and again. Davina and the people at turning point have always been there to help. They don't judge you, and always try to find solutions to ANY problems that you might have. Even if it's just a phone call to let you know that your important, and they care- this sometimes means more than anything. Wonderful people with huge hearts. Thankyou Turning Point.

October 2018

Turning Point has been such a pleasurable place to come to for me. I have felt so welcomed from the first day.

Septemer 2018

Turning Point has been everything to me. It’s been my weekly social gathering. I’ve made wonderful friends and enjoy crafts. I also enjoy the Thursday activities, where I’ve learnt a lot about myself.

The pantry has also been a huge help! I can’t put enough here to say how much I enjoy my time each week, or how thankful I am for what they do for me and my family.

August 2018

I am so grateful for everyday I come to Turning Point. This place is really a turning point. The Wednesday ladies group is so wonderful. The ladies are so generous. A big thank you to Pastor Mike – thank you.

July 2018

I enjoyed my time at Turning Point with the friendly people and the arts and crafts, and time away from the four walls of my home. They are very friendly people. You must come. You’ll enjoy yourself.

June 2018

The friendly support and kindness is very much appreciated. Social interaction and appreciation of other people’s problems make you realise you are not alone..

May 2018
