About Us

Turning Point Camden Inc. is a not-for-profit community welfare centre We are available to support the community while they are experiencing life's challenges.  We aim to provide a safe and confidential environment where we can offer assistance, providing welfare services such as emergency food relief, advocacy, document assistance, phone access, and computer availability with free Wi-Fi.

We have information connecting people to services such as mental health, disability, employment and accommodation. A stock of blankets, water, towels and incidentals are available for people experiencing homelessness.

We provide counselling, access to legal services and court support subject to staffing availability.  Strong working relationships have developed with local disability, employment and mental health services. Camden Centrelink and Camden Council refer community on a regular basis.

Ongoing support is available through our Chaplaincy service where we have the opportunity to partner with people during times of transition offering a space for people to come in and just chat over a coffee, to trained volunteers and other members of the community. This drop in and referral concept enables us to build relationships with people where we can work alongside them in their need in a very hands on way.

Turning Point Camden Inc. operates under the direction of one paid staff member, the Co-Ordinator and a team of volunteers. The volunteer roles are in administration, as a community connector, cooking, cleaning, food pantry management, craft and course facilitation. Turning Point Camden Inc. is governed by a board who meet quarterly in a volunteer capacity.
